Some yards just need a hard reset. That's exactly what we were dealing with here in Guilford - a large stump that had to come out, overgrown plantings that had taken over the beds, and a front landscape that had lost any sense of shape or purpose. The kind of job where you almost don't know where to start.
We started with the stump. Our mini excavator made short work of it, pulling the root ball clean out of the ground. That's the thing about doing it right - grinding only goes so far. When you extract the whole root system, you're not dealing with regrowth or a sunken void in your lawn two years down the road. The area was ready to actually work with once it was gone.
From there we cleared out the overgrown plantings and got the beds back down to a clean slate. Once everything was hauled off, we reset the space - new trees, new plants, and fresh mulch laid across the entire bed area. The dark mulch ties it all together and gives the plantings a clean backdrop to grow into. It's one of those details that seems simple, but it's what makes the finished space actually look intentional.
What you end up with is a yard that feels like it belongs to someone again. Clean lines, healthy new growth, and beds that are actually manageable going forward. No more fighting with whatever that space had become. Jobs like this are some of our favorites because the difference is just so obvious when it's done.
